Recently I created AI assistants for website managers - The Website Manager's Agent and The Website Manager's Notebook.
I built these for people at the pointy-end of digital delivery (just like me), who need a little help juggling the many challenges of modern web management.
A key part of that is Content Design. This is an area I have been heavily involved in for nearly 20 years and I have written about extensively.
So why not see if I can build a useful agents for that too?
AI agents to point the way
The purpose of The Content Designer's Agent and Content Designer's Notebook is to help you select the right type of content for a user's need.
They will be particularly useful if you know what you want in a broad way, but are unsure about the best solution. The agents can help point the way.
To use them, simply describe what you want your content to do. (Be as specific as possible.) They will then generate suggestions for:
- The right forms of content to use (descriptive, instructional, algorithmic, etc)
- Ideas for features & formats (text, video, graphics, etc)
- How to present it online (single page, multipage, etc)
PS - These agents are not intended to create the content itself. You still have to do that bit!
The agents are most suited to content in the government and public sectors. That is, large information-dense websites with important public services.
(The services are far less suited to commercial websites, but you're welcome to try.)
Knowledge base
I built these AIs using custom GPT from OpenAI and NotebookLM from Google.
I created the knowledge base using the many content design artefacts I have produced over the years. In particular, this includes 4Fs model of content (Functions > Forms > Features > Formats) and uses the eight basic 'forms of content' as a rationale for the type of content to deliver.
A full list is below.
So far, the outputs are quite impressive.
All the answers generated have broadly matched the type of approach I would take in each case. I am continuing to refine responses by adding further instructions and clarifications in the backend.
